YOM YACHAD SPEECHES: Mayer Goldsmith
YOM YACHAD SPEECHES: Mayer Goldsmith

Dear Rabbis, family, and friends, welcome to my…
Sorry, wrong speech. Havent spoke in public since my bar mitzvah. But let’s start over.
Hi, my name is Mayer Goldsmith and I am from Baltimore. This is my first time on YBY and my first time in Israel. I am going to make a bit of caparison here. Baseball is my favorite sport. There are 9 players on the field at any given moment. 3 outfields, 4 infielders, a pitcher and a catcher. If a team would miss any one of those positions, the team would not function. This reminds me of my YBY experience. If any one of my friends that I made this trip would have not been with me , my trip would fall apart. When I went ziplining, my fear came out. I was walking over to the zipline, fully harnessed and ready to go. I was walking over with my Friend, and then it hit. My heart started to race and I was like there is no way I would go. My friends really encouraged me that it will be a lot of fun and I would not want to miss it. I ended up doing it and could not be any happier.  I would like to thank all my friends that I have made for making this the best summer of my life. I could name you all, but that would take too long. I would also like to thank my staff members , specifically Tomer for really looking out for me and Jake for helping me write this speech. Remember, when missing one player from your team, your team would not function. Thank you and let’s get this party started!
