YBY1: July 26: Yom Hachanich & Visitors Night!

Today was Yom Hachanich (the day of the participants)! After a beautiful tefila and tasty breakfast we said goodbye to the staff and began participant organized olympics. It kicked off with some extraordinary musical performances by the participants which led right to lunch consisting of Pizza Hut and the greatest zucchini soup you will ever have. Afterwards, we head outside and played water gun freeze tag and got super wet, then got really messy during shaving cream twister, watermelon challenges and an egg challenge. While all of this was going on, a few of the boys had a trick up their sleeves (of course up to the elbow). They had to teach the counselors a lesson for ditching them so they gathered 2000 plastic cups, filled them with water and put them all around the counselors room. Only 800 were used though. When the counselors got back we all cheered and they didn’t know how to react. Good times. Then after a typical mincha we all left to visitors night. Participants without visitors had a ball shopping at the Malcha Mall and some even purchased pet goldfish. Afterwards we reunited for maariv and packed up our stuff in anticipation to leave Ramat Rachel and go down south.

We are happy to have our staff back and looking forward to another great day tomorrow !
