YBY1: July 25: Leket, Beit Izzie Shapiro & Yom NCSY!

This morning we had a beautiful davening followed by a delicious breakfast. After that we packed up the busses and headed to Leket where we packed pears and tomatoes for people in need. After a meaningful morning full of chessed we headed towards the Beit Izzie Shapiro park. Once we arrived at the park we split up into learning groups for a learning program. One group discussed leadership and the different roles we all play depending on the situation while the other learned the importance of halacha and how everything HaShem asks of us is ultimately for our benefit. We then enjoyed an Israeli lunch of falafel and pita. After lunch we heard a little about the park and Beit Izzie Shapiro. This is the first accessible park and promotes inclusion around Israel. For us it was especially cool because is accessible to every participant on our the trip. We had so much fun hanging out and playing there. After the park we headed towards the mall where we walked around and shopped. Finally we departed to the Letrum Tank Museum where Yom NCSY was held. It was a great deal of fun to see our friends in other programs and introducing them to our new friends. After an amazing dinner and concert led by Eitan and Shlomo Katz we headed back to our hotel and called it a night.

Looking forward to what the rest of the week has in store.
