YBY1: August 7: Camel Riding, Cheese Farm, Alpaca Farm & Eilat!!

When 6AM early wake up hit, trip 1 begrudgingly strolled out of the tents, davened and headed towards breakfast. The first thing on the agenda for the day was camel riding, although many did enjoy, some were very glad to have their feet back on the floor. Proceeding, we packed up the buses and said goodbye to the Bedouin tents, with a long bus journey to our new destination many decided that it would be a good time to catch up on some sleep.

We rolled into the cheese farm, where the owners told us about the story of their vision and dream to make cheese in the land of Israel. We took a tour, petted some goats, and sampled some of the fresh cheese made on the farm. We then got back on the bus and headed to an Alpaca farm, where we ate lunch, and learned about the animals, and many even took the opportunity to feed and pet them.

With two farms checked off the itinerary, we made our final long bus journey of the day and headed to Eilat. When we arrived at the Adi Hotel, we unpacked and enjoyed a delicious Burgers Bar dinner. For the night activity, we walked down to broadwalk to take part in the famous paper clip challenge, although normally a hard activity some would be surprised with a lot of the results, however this didn’t stop half of the girls getting braids in their hair, and looking fresh out of Rastafarian society. With water sports and the ‘ice-mall’ tomorrow, we can’t wait for another super fun day on Yad B’Yad.
