YBY1: August 5: Graffiti Tiyul, Ice Cream on the Beach, Diaspora Museum & Banquet!

Sunday was our last day in Israel, and our last full day on Yad B’Yad. We began our day in Tel Aviv at Graffiti tiyul. We were given cans of spray paint and were able to either paint old records or graffiti various walls. We then went down to the beach for a lunch with a gorgeous view where we were treated to delicious ice cream from the Israeli staff. From there we went to the Diaspora Museum. At the museum we went to the heroes exhibit: an exhibit featuring Jewish heroes going back all the way to Moshe. The exhibit was interactive and consisted of many fun games. We then each picked a hero we connected with and discuss what made them a hero. After spending some time there, we returned to the hotel to begin preparing for our pajama themed banquet. The banquet was full of fun activities, such as boys and girls staff songs, the end of the talent show, and encores of two lip sync performances. Also, both acapella groups, E3 and the Yaccapellas, performed one last time. After the banquet we were given the opportunity to hang out and share or memories from the summer and what we hope to take with us moving forward. The night was filled with friendship, tears, and so much laughter.
