After yet another yummy breakfast at Ramat Rachel, we started off the day with an emotional movie about Michael Levin, a lone soldier who lost his life fighting for the land he loved. We learned from him to always remain positive and as Michael always used to say “no pain, no gain”. Following this, we all went to Har Hertzl where we got to see the actual place where Michael is buried along with many other fallen soldiers. Although it was very hard to see all of the graves, at the same time it was very moving to see how many people risked their lives to fight for the land of Israel.
Our next stop was at the Tank Museum where we sat down for our first meat lunch in a while, which was very exciting!! After eating lunch we went on a tour to see all of the tanks and learn about how they are operated. Then we made a quick stop at the mall to change into our YOM NCSY shirts and grab a quick snack. With our orange shirts ready to go we made our way to the highly anticipated Yom NCSY (as we are both programs run by the Orthodox Union)!!
17 programs, and over 2000 people gathered together to celebrate their love for Israel in a very fun way. We enjoyed an AMAZING concert by the one and only MORDECHAI SHAPIRO, who also happens to be the uncle of our very own ELI SCHIFF!!!! The amount of screaming, cheering, singing, dancing and can’t forget about the sweat in the air made it all the more spectacular!!! Today was one of the most memorable days on YBY 2017!!!!
