It all started at 6:30AM when the counselors lovingly woke us up for a beautiful Rosh Chodesh davening. We then went to the Lebanese and Syrian borders of Israel where we were met by an old pioneer who is part of a kibbutz and taught us about the history of Israel. We then headed toward a freezing water hike where we enjoyed splashing around and pulling our counselors into the ice water after sweating from the hike. A delicious shnitzel sandwich lunch was served followed by singing and dancing with our new Israeli friends. After that, we made our way toward Kfar Blum where we kayaked down the Jordan River. We then had dinner back in Hispin, our luxurious hotel. We attempted to have a night activity called “capture the counselor”, but after a while it turned into “cover your friends with paint”. The day was wrapped up with a late curfew of 12:00AM. It was a great day for YBY.
