Today was another amazing day on Yad B’Yad 2014! We started off the day with a great breakfast at the Holiday Inn in Flagstaff. After breakfast, we made our way over to the Out of Africa Safari adventure! On the journey there we enjoyed another poetry slam, where all participants were invited to share their favorite poems or even create their own on the spot. Once we arrived at the safari, it almost felt as though we were in Africa! We then boarded the safari tour busses, where we saw a vast array of safari animals. We saw lions, tigers, and bears, oh my! We were lucky enough to get close enough to feed the giraffes. Some of us were even brave enough to feed them with our mouths. Additionally, we were privileged to see a zebra that was only one week old. It was so cute! Did you know that zebras are black with white stripes? After enjoying a delicious hot lunch, we headed over to a tiger show. We saw the tiger do so many cool things. Next, during the snake show, many of us faced our fears and touched the snake. On the bus, Max taught us some awesome Syrian songs. We are excited to bring these songs back to our family and friends. When we arrived back at the hotel, we had a “good chill”. After a delicious salmon dinner, Yom Chanich Color War Movie Edition broke out! A day in which participants are given the leadership to make the day. Now we are preparing for Yom Chanich by team, and creating the activities which everyone will participate in tomorrow. We are looking forward to another amazing day of Yad B’Yad, with our “new staff”!
