Hey everybody! It is Estee and Hannah here reporting on day 8 of Yad B’Yad. We started the day with our departure from our extended stay at the Chispin hotel. After that we took a bus ride to an Ethiopian absorption center in Tzfat. When we got there we first went to a classroom full of adorable preschoolers that were from Ethiopia. We played games and sang songs with them. Overall we had an amazing time with the kids. After we left the classroom a man showed us the surrounding area and how the Ethiopians lived in Ethiopia and their adjustment to living in Israel. It really shows how lucky we are and that we shouldn’t take what we have for granted. After the absorption center we went for lunch (yay!!!) with the option of getting either pizza or falafel (we both had delicious pizza which was so good). Then we made our way through Tzfat to the Sofer Stam Center which specializes in writing Torahs, mezuzahs, and tefillin. At the center we got to write our names with ink on parchment, did trivia on Torah and tefillin, and watched a video on the process of making a Torah including the writing and making of the parchment. Following that we went to the artist gallery In Tzfat where we were able to shop for a while. We searched for “shema yisroel” rings the entire time there, and in the end we found them with a discount (clutch!). After Tzfat we went on a bus ride to our next hotel in Ner Etzion. The food in the hotel is fantastic and we can’t wait for another 2 days here J.
