July 15, 2015: Kibbutz Misgav Am, Tel Dan Water "Hike," & Rafting in the Jordan

Another sick day on YBY 2015, the good type of sick not the bad type. That was all before we even got to the border of Lebanon. Once there we learned about what li11741233_850837404993647_1344685777799943988_ofe is like for those living and serving in Kibbutz Misgav Am. Our tour guide, a man from Cleveland who made Aliyah 50 years ago, really focused on the threats that surround Israel and how despite that, the Jewish people always remain standing. After a boiling hot 7 minute hike under the 11705656_850839998326721_1509904851148414513_oblazing sun, we were rewarded with an incredibly cold and refreshing water fight in Tel Dan, one of the 3 rivers that flow from the Chermon. We dried off just in time to get more wet while rafting in the Jordan River! It was really cool to see such a diverse group of Jews in all the rafts. Afterwards we stopped off at a super market to buy some snacks, and then drive back to the hotel for a fun night activity called “Panic”. In this game we had limited time to dress up as a kibbutznik, a superhero, and a staff member. The teams were judged by the head staff, and it was super fun!
See you next time!
