July 15-16, 2016: Yad Vashem and Shabbos in Yerushalim!

Yad B’Yad Trip 1 Journal Update: July 15-16

Friday started off great with an early wake up and a great breakfast. Our day was filled with inspiration and meaning at Yad Vashem. We learned about our ancestors, pre war life and the Holocaust. We then had a filling lunch and headed back to our hotel to get ready for the holy Shabbas. We made a stop at the makolet to stock up on food because we all love food. We are having an amazing time in Israel on Yad BYad and never want it to end!!!!!!!!!!

It’s Purim in July!!!! Shabbas started with our pre Shabbas pictures when people dressed vnahfochu! We davened kabalas Shabbas by a beautiful chuppah, we danced and sang to welcome in Shabbas kodesh. During a LOVELY dinner in the dining room we ate with a new choson and kallah that got married that morning! We danced with them to help enhance their Simcha. Shabbas day we davened and had learning groups. We then ate yummy lunch and had circle time. Later that day we had time to rest up for an amazing week to come. After davening Mincha we played a game that was organized by group 4, it was sooo much fun! We then ate shala shudeous and had slow shira to enjoy the last moments of Shabbas. We heard a beautiful havdalah and danced and sang. For our night activity we went to Emek Refaim, we had sooo much fun and can’t wait for Shabbas next week with Yad Byad!!!!
