Day Twenty One: Thursday, August 1st: Masada and Bedouin Tents!

Hello all! Thursday was a fun, chocolate-filled, We started out the day by davening and then eating our last meal at ANA Eilat. Once we finished breakfast ? ? we loaded the busses and started heading towards Masada. On our way, we stopped at the Yotvata Visitors’ Center for a sweet treat of chocolate milk ??!!! Everyone was given a free big cup of chocolate milk (yum!?), and there was the option to also buy chocolate milkshakes or ice cream ?. Then we loaded the busses again and resumed our travels to Masada. Once we arrived, we had a filling lunch of schnitzel sandwiches ??. We then started to pack ourselves into the cable cars ?, after benching of course, to start heading up to Masada ⛰ . The view from the top was breathtaking and our Israeli staff taught us so much about why Herod built his fortress ? on Masada. We got the chance to look around and see the luxuries and genius technologies that Herod included in his fortress, including multiple ? , a mosaic floor, and a way of getting water ? in the dry desert ?. After returning to ground level via packed cable cars, we then loaded the busses once more and started on our way to our Bedouin adventures at Kfar Hanokdim! When we arrived at the Bedouin Tents ⛺ we ate a special dinner of chicken ?, couscous, meatballs, lots of yummy vegetables ??. We then davened mincha and then unloaded the busses and then got the special treat of hearing from a real Bedouin! She told us her story and her family’s story while we drank the famous Bedouin tea ?! Next we all sat around a campfire and sang songs? all together ?. Then we had the option to either go to bed (on mats and sleeping bags) ⛺, go to chaburot ?, go star gazing ?, or just hang out (all of which were amazing options). Then it was time for bed and lights out and day 21 was over:( But that means that Day 22 is on its way!! ??
