Travel day!

All the participants were split up into five groups and flights were scattered sporadically throughout the day starting at 6:30 am and going until 3:20 pm. People on the 6:30 am flight had to wake up at around 3 am for their flight. Everyone was really hyper and on the early flights dance moves were performed for flight attendants. It was really fun!

7-20-2When the first two flights arrived in San Francisco buses were taken to Fishermen’s Wharf and then to tour around the city. The second flight shift had to leave the Stanford Plaza at 8:30 am and the third shift left at around 10 am. These shifts were able to see Binny at the airport and say good bye. A common underlying theme on all flights was overweight baggage.

After everyone’s bags were eventually checked in, the different flights split up. Flight 5 joined the moon sand salesman and attempted to help him sell the amazing scientifically revolutionary 98% sand product. Nothing was sold.

Flight 5 also played a lot of “odds are” games.

When flights 3,4, and 5 finally all met up at the airport in San Fran, music blasted and “Hey Brother” was inevitably played. We had a flash mob and got a nice old lady to join. 7-21-1

Groups 3,4, and 5 then went on the bus to San Francisco to meet up with the other groups and by this point everyone was exhausted. We went on a road trip then to our hotel.

When we all finally reunited at the Fairmont (best hotel-rumored to have been the set for the Parent Trap), people were close to tears- joy engulfed our spirits as old friends ran in slow motion to recount old tales of the day.

It was a long day, but we all made it. Amen and goodnight.
