Week 2
Week 2

Dear Morasha Yachad Families,

After enjoying a restful Shabbos, our second week in camp has been nothing short of exciting! We had an ice cream party after break-fast, a riveting hypnotist show (where a few members of our program were called onto the stage), a hilarious game of human apples to apples and a day where boys and girls campuses were split; girls had an all-day mini-color war called “it’s about time,” while the boys enjoyed a day filled with activities topped off by a fun-filled karaoke night. The vocational program enjoyed their first mishmar of the summer Wednesday night where they enjoyed snacks while learning about the weekly parsha and hilchot mezuzah. Thursday morning we boarded busses for our first trip of the summer. Morasha rented out the amusement park and water park at six flags great escape and we spent nearly the entire day there. Despite the rain, the trip was awesome!! Can’t wait to see what’s in store for next week!

Quotable Quotes

Below are some blog entries written by our Yachad campers and vocational members: Sunday was the 17th of Tammuz where we started the day with a late wake up at 9:00 AM followed by Shacharis and ample resting periods. After the fast we had a scrumptious break-fast and an insane ice cream party afterwards (Phew!). Monday we had Karaoke Night where several members sang trending pop songs on stage where the guidance of lyrics on a television. Tuesday we had Ronnie Barris for the campers and staff to get hypnotized. He sent brave volunteers into a state of confusion where they forgot their own names and eventually laughed when Barris described the horrific events that occurred on Tisha B Av. This Thursday Yachad, along with the whole camp will be headed to Six Flags to enjoy some speeding roller coasters and to have loads of fun.

Workers of the Week: Joey Lerner and Dina Sheva Waldman

This summer marks Joey’s 4th summer in the camp Morasha Yachad vocational program. With his bubbly and outgoing personality, everyone in camp from the youngest camper to the camp director has come to know and love Joey. Joey has been working vigorously this summer with a two job schedule. As a gabbai sheini, Joey calls Morasha campers up to the Torah for aliyot and keeps the shuls clean. Joey is also working this summer in Lake Como Pizza, the local kosher pizza shop, where he spends many hours preparing pizza, cleaning tables, folding pizza boxes and serving customers.

Joining us from Hollywood, Florida, for her first time, Dina Sheva has proved herself above and beyond as a great addition to the Morasha Yachad vocational staff team. Known for her big smile and her GREAT laugh (!), Dina Sheva has quickly become a known personality in camp Morasha. Dina Sheva has been working in a brand new Morasha department called “Chesed.” Here, Dina Sheva co-runs creative and exciting programs that assist the many campers in Morasha to better understand the importance of caring for the sick, giving charity, showing sensitivity towards those around you and more. Everyone in Morasha is so excited to have Dina Sheva with us! Looking forward to another fun, exciting and gainful week at Morasha Yachad!

Wishing you a restful Shabbos,
