Morasha Yachad - Week 3
Morasha Yachad - Week 3

Dear Morasha Yachad Families and Friends,
What an amazing third week of camp! In addition to all of our exciting regular-schedule activities, this week we had several stand out night activities and camp-wide programs that were so much fun. We started off the week seeing our family and friends on visiting day. That night we followed the traditional Morasha Olympic Torch ceremony that began the two day action-packed Olympic competition between our four teams; Canada, Brazil, Greece and India. We broke into teams and participated in sporting events, bucket brigades, races and more. Congratulations to everyone on team Canada for taking home the gold medals. On Monday night we had a Simcha Leiner concert for the Olympic half time show where we all had a great time singing and dancing. On Tuesday afternoon we took a short break from the Olympic competitions, went to our friends in Camp Mesorah and participated in a 5k run. Afterwards all of the Yachad programs that joined the event met in the canteen and hung out while enjoying post-race drinks and snacks. On Wednesday night, the girls played a great game of PANIC where they split into teams and were given time to dress up as a given theme. Whoever dressed up most accurately in the allotted time won a round. Boys enjoyed a beach volleyball tournament with the younger shtili boys and eating a BBQ. On Thursday night, the girls walked the ‘Red Carpet’ and watched the Morasha Grammy’s performance. The boys played PANIC and it was awesome! Late Thursday night, the Lavi vocational program joined our vocational program here in Morasha for a night of learning at our third mishmar of the summer. As we remember and review the great memories of this past week, we excitedly look forward to another relaxing Shabbos here in camp B’Yachad.

Workers of the Week

Yehuda Sorkin – Yehuda Sorkin, known far and wide in camp as “Hu-Dawg,” has attended the Morasha vocational program for the past several years. This year he began a new job working with mishlachat Israel Experience team where he assists campers putting on and taking off their rock climbing harnesses, teaching campers how to shoot paintball guns, and keeping the Israel Experience equipment shack neat and clean. Yehuda has a hilarious sense of humor and is described by his co-workers as “the best.”

Esti Eisenbach – Joining the Morasha vocational program for her first year, Esti Eisenbach currently works as an assistant at ceramics. Here she assists Morasha campers in choosing what to make, hands out clay, provides utensils, and cleans the utensils afterwards. Recently, Esti also began working in Morasha’s glass fusion department where she assists campers in making various objects out of glass. Esti is described her co workers as “Really funny” and her department head says “she brings the life to the party.”

Words of the Wise

At mishmar, vocational workers are given the opportunity to share words of Torah with the group in addition to hearing a short shiur. Below is a Dvar Torah shared by a Lavi vocational member that visited us this past Thursday.

By: Manny Isaacs
In this week’s parsha, parshas Balak, Bilaam takes a ride on a donkey and while traveling he veers off from his path. This angered Bilaam. After trying to get the donkey back on the path, the donkey finally opens its mouth and said we can’t go any further as there is a malach in the way blocking us. Sure enough, Bilaam saw the malach holding a sword and realized the donkey was right all along. This teaches us an important lesson: we must always listen to anyone who speaks to us because everyone’s thoughts and concerns are important.
Thank you Morasha for hosting us at this mishmar.
Have a good Shabbos!
