Week 5 at Moshava Ba'Ir NJ Yachad
Week 5 at Moshava Ba'Ir NJ Yachad

What a week we had!
We were very busy prepping for our trip to Six Flags trip that took place on
Thursday. We had some very special guests join us on our trip. First, we had
lunch, and Yachad split into two groups: one group went on roller coasters
and the other went on the Safari. We went on Superman where we channeled
our inner superheroes by flying on our stomachs on the ride. Then, we went
on the Green Lantern where it involved standing and going upside down. The
other group went on the Safari and enjoyed over 1,200 animals from six
continents including elephants, rhinos, tigers, giraffes and lions. The Safari
tour guide was very impressed when our very own Shani knew information
about animals that he said “only five other people knew in the history of his
career.” Some even had an opportunity to feed a giraffe!
This week in camp we gave out snacks, informed the counselors when their
campers need to leave early, filled up the water pitchers, and distributed lunch
to the bunks and staff. Several staff members even came up to us appreciating
our hard work and missing us while we were on the Six Flags trip. May our
hard work continue to be as strong as the giraffes’ necks we saw at the Safari,
continue to be Moshava Ba’ir’s superheroes with our several jobs around
camp, and continue to shine like gold and silver by pleasing everybody at
camp!

WEEKLY D’VAR TORAH
Hi all, this week’s parsha is Parshas Mottos and Massei. In the
first parsha two commandments we learn about are not taking
vows (applying to different types of people) Or if we do make
then then what should be done to remove them or keep them.
Next Hashem tells Moshe that the Jews should rage war for
vengeance upon Midyan. This is because woman from Midyan
under king Balak’s decree caused the Jews to sin and in the
aftermath caused the plague But not all of Midyan, for there
Moshe was taken care of after running away from Egypt.
The next parsha records all the places the Jews journeyed to
(showing how much they gone through and achieved) and then
Hashem gives final commandments before they enter the land of
Israel.
So the messages are for this week is to be careful when making
vows (know if you can keep them) and to take revenge on people
only if the caused you great harm.
Have a good Shobbos!
