MBNJ Voc 2017 - Week 7
MBNJ Voc 2017 - Week 7

Things are starting to wind down at MBNJ Yachad. With only one week left we are starting to help the camp with the clean up effort. Friday afternoon was spent helping to organize the lost & found so that next week any labeled items can go back to whom they belong. This week the camp competed in color war, it was the yellow team against the blue team. We, however, remained doing many of our daily jobs, making sure that even with the chaos of color war, the camp still ran smoothly. On Wednesday afternoon at the end of color war we passed out blue & yellow cookies to the entire camp as a way to celebrate. On Thursday we were able to get out for lunch and take a little break. We went to Shnitzel Plus is Teaneck. Now we are looking forward to a restful shabbas and an enjoyable weekend before helping the camp pack up starting Monday. It will be sad to say goodbye at the end of next week, but hopefully it is just a so long for now! -Noah

DVAR TORAH: PARSHAT EKEV
By Neenah Friedman
In this week’s parsha, Moshe reminds Bnei Yisroal about how Hashem gave us the Manna as a challenge, to test us. You may be wondering: how can Manna be a test if it’s not something you need to work for? According to the Seforno, Hashem wanted to test them to see if they would follow what He wanted. He wanted to see if even though they had the Manna & everything they needed, would they still want a relationship with him. People who work for a living have a tendency to have a strong relationship with Hashem, because they want to ask him for help & try to do the right thing by following the Torah. Here at Moshava Ba’ir we try to do the right thing & to work hard & help others in order to follow Hashem’s will.
