Yachad Yediot Updates from Moshava California
Wow! This has been an awesome first week of camp! From sports like soccer, basketball and tennis to art, swimming, archery and baking-the fun was non stop! On Wednesday and Thursday everyone had the chance to go on a an awesome boating trip! Between the jet skis, party boats and kayaks, we couldn’t stop smiling! The theme our summer is Yerushalayim and we have learnt so much already! Every Friday we will have a special camp wide activity relating to the theme and today was Aliyah La’Regel!! It was incredible! Each Eidah (age group) had something to prepare to bring to the Kohanim in the Beit HaMikdash. After our short hike up the mountain we enjoyed popsicles, music, dancing and ceremony at the top. It was a great way to end a week of fun peulot (activities), night tochnits (night activities) and trips.
Eidah Aleph: We had such a blast this week! This week we had CAKE WARS as a night tochnit and it rocked! We made a beautiful cake that was Yerushalayim themed. The best part was..afterwards, we got to eat it! After all that sugar, we couldn’t go straight to bed so we had a pillow fight! We went on an epic boating trip where we went kayaking, motor boating, jet skiing, tubing and ate lunch and danced on the Miss Liberty. Today, we brought one tenth of the grape juice we made to the kohanim in the Beit Hamikash. We can’t wait to see what next week will bring!!!
Eidah Bet: Bet Bet Bet Bet Bet!!! We had an awesome time this week! Between art, swimming and teva, the days were filled with exciting new activities everywhere we turned! But the fun didn’t stop when the sun went down. We had some amazing night tochnits this week. On Monday night we got to know each other by playing Human Bingo. On Thursday night we had an awesome bonfire filled with music, played by one of our counselors. On Friday, we made olive oil at the Aliyah La’Regel activity and brough 1/10th to the kohanim in the Beit Mikdash. It was delicious!! We are so excited to see what next week brings!
Eidah Gimmel: This week was amaazzzinnggg!!!! In art we made signs that say our hebrew names on them using tissue paper. We can’t wait to hang them up when we get home! Because the fun in camp never ends, we had some awesome night tochnits. On Wednesday night we ran around camp measuring things with bananas. Guess how many bananas long the soccer field is?!?! We also had was cake wars with the rest of the camp. Our Yerushalayim cake looked so realistic! On Friday, out job was to make the fruit salad for the Kohanim. We cannot wait to see what else is in store this summer!!
Eidah Daled: We are so excited to be the oldest Eidah in camp! This summer brings a lot of leadership roles with it! This week we went on an awesome boating trip and had a yummy BBQ. One of the highlights of this week was when we all dressed up in crazy outfits and played human Guess Who to get to know each other more. On Friday,we went on the first of many hikes for this summer! Afterwards we came back for the awesome Aliyah La’Regel activity and built Mishkan.
This summer is going to be amazing!!
