Trip to Moshava and Color War 2015!

BBQ at Moshava

On Thursday night, all the Yachad vocational programs joined together at Camp Moshava.  The evening started off with a taste of Israel as we made Pita bread at Moshava’s activity called “The Israeli Experience.“  Everyone was given a piece of dough and roll it to form the shape of a pita, then the staff at Camp Moshava put it on a hot stove and the pita cooked until it was ready to be eaten. We also made Hummus and Shakshoka (eggs cooked in tomato sauce) made it delicious.  After that, the boys and girls split up for some sports. First boys played soccer while the girls played kick ball then we switched activities. The evening wrapped up with a delicious BBQ.  It was a super fun evening where we got to meet new people, and meet our friends from other Yachad programs!

Color War Break Out!

On Tuesday night, the entire camp was invited to Joey and Jenny’s 20th anniversary vow renewal. No one really knew what to expect but we all came dressed up for the wedding ceremony.  All the division heads starting dancing down the aisle and orange and blue confetti fell from the ceiling, lights dimmed and SURPRISE! Color war break out!  The rabbi of the wedding (a famous Israeli singer Gad Elbaz!) started singing and everyone was dancing in big circles, some even went up on friend’s shoulders.  After that, they announced all the leaders and members of Orange and Blue teams on a big monitor.  Before the night was over color wars first official challenge began with the blue vs orange team competing in sport races.
