Camp Chaverim 2017 - Week 2
Camp Chaverim 2017 - Week 2

THE FUN NEVER STOPS! Week two at Camp Chaverim couldn’t have been more exciting. We started off the week with visiting day, closely followed by an amazing concert, a hike, and loads of fun activities with friends. The week really flew by and we are all looking forward to a restful Shabbos to gear up for week three!!

Hike!

This week Camp Chaverim was one with nature. Our Wednesday waterfall hike was wonderful. We hiked on a path through the woods and arrived at the beautiful waterfall. Some of us even ventured up to the top of the waterfall. We then hiked back to the buses to enjoy our delicious lunch. When we got back to camp, everyone was thoroughly exhausted from our funfilled busy day!

MENDY J CONCERT

Following our visiting day farewells, we were treated with visit, from none other than MENDY J! We all enjoyed his concert after dinner. We sang and danced until we could sing and dance no more!

Division Head Talks

It is still early in the summer, but camp sure is flying by. As we finish week two, I feel a great sense of satisfaction seeing all the campers so entertained. I am captivated by the devotion our counselors have been demonstrating towards their campers. It was such a pleasure to greet and meet the parents this visiting day. Even if the goodbyes were difficult, it didn’t take long for those Chaverim smiles to return with the wild performance of Mendy J. The special relationships in camp are unforgettable. Each day, I see the warmth and positivity shared between the staff and campers alike. The counselors build close relationships with each other, founded on teamwork and kindness, an incredibly strong and everlasting bond. When the campers are surrounded by so much positivity, they, too, develop strong and meaningful relationships. I am so excited for the rest of the summer with all these special and amazing people! All the best, Yehuda “Lou” Schwartz

A MESSAGE FROM YOSI WADLER

Only two weeks have passed and it seems as if we have never left. The new boys have integrated so well into our program that it is difficult to tell them apart from the returning campers! The smiles Reuven and I get when we wake them up in the morning makes my whole day enjoyable. This past Wednesday, we went on a special hike which culminated in a breathtaking waterfall. We were a group of close to 90 boys, and all of them made a wonderful Kiddush Hashem. They walked in an orderly fashion and let the other visitors pass. Many of the boys even greeted other hikers with a cheerful good morning! The boys are learning new skills every day, both in school and on the playing field. The next three weeks are marked off as our Chessed weeks. We explained that one of the reasons we lost the Bais HaMikdosh was due to unfounded hatred. The counselors were instructed to tell me the names of campers who assist others throughout the day. Each morning, after davening, those boy’s names are announced. The list is getting longer each day. We are all very proud. Have a wonderful Shabbos!

MAZEL TOV!

Mazel Tov to Yosef on his Bar Mitzvah! We enjoyed sharing in your Simcha. Yosef should continue to bring lots of Nachas to his parents and all of Klal Yisrael!
