Morasha Yachad Week 1
Morasha Yachad Week 1

Dear Morasha Yachad Families,

Here in Morasha Yachad the days are long and fun, but the weeks seem to fly by. On Monday, we entered camp to crowds of friends waiting to greet us. After settling in camp, unpacking, and getting to know our bunkmates, we joined the camp for an exhilarating fireworks show as we celebrated the 4th of July. Campers began regular activities – swimming, basketball, volleyball and more – while the vocational members had orientation, received their schedules, and began their jobs. We played an awesome game of human bingo where all Yachad participants had to introduce themselves and learn about each other as they filled out bingo boards containing interesting fun facts rather than numbers. On Wednesday the entire camp dressed up and danced their hearts out as the “silent” DJ (everyone was given headphones that played music at the volume of their choice) blasted music for Purim in July. After the party quieted down, vocational members enjoyed their first late night mishmar of the summer where we ate snacks, heard Divrei Torah from some of our peers and a shiur on Hilchos Muktzeh. On Thursday we woke up early, loaded coach buses, and spent the day at Hershey Park!! It was so fun! Because Thursday night was a late night, we got to enjoy a late wake up Friday morning. After sleeping in and relaxing in the morning, we geared up for a 5k marathon through camp followed by a large scale carnival. As we prepare ourselves for the first Shabbos of camp, we can’t help but think of all the exciting activities we did this past week and the amazing memories we now all share with each other.
