YBY2: July 23: Raft Building on the Kineret, Kfar Kedem & Naharia!

Today was a great day. We started off with an amazing last breakfast buffet in Kfar Giladi (the food was awesome!). We then boarded the busses on this scorching hot day and headed to the Kineret. When we arrived, all of the participants got split into 7 groups to build rafts  from scratch out of bamboo, string and barrels. After some imaginary tackle football on the beach and water we attempted to race with our rafts. Turned out to be a lot of fun! Then we had some time to swim around the Kineret and cool off.

After our pre ordered lunches we got back on the buses to Kfar Kedem. There we went back in time to the time to the Mishna. We dressed up in robes and hats made of cloth. We really looked like we came from ancient Israel! We made pita from scratch and learned how to make flour. Following the pita making we went to ride the donkeys. After learning donkey language (by the way eesh means stop) we got to ride the donkeys (and if you wanted to, name them.) Riding a donkey was definitely an interesting and fun new experience! We then packed up and headed off to Bait Kay in Naharia. We are really excited for rappelling and zip lining tomorrow!

P.S. don’t worry mom we didn’t play the tackle football in the water
