YBY2: August 1: Camel Riding, Masada & Yom Yachad!
YBY2: August 1: Camel Riding, Masada & Yom Yachad!

We woke up bright and early at 6:45AM to the sound of camels and sheep. After another meal of sitting on mats and more Bedouin tea, we rode camels around the dessert. We then loaded the buses for a long drive to Masada. Once there, we watched a movie about the great history of Masada and the Jewish revolt there. We took a cable car up to the top for a quick tour and presentation by some of our fellow participants. We then took a cable car back down for lunch with a view of the Dead Sea. We then got back on the buses and made our way back to Yerushalayim ir hakodesh. We got to our new and final hotel, Ramat Rachel, and finally had some time to shower and get ready for Yom Yachad. Once we got to Yom Yachad we met up with our friends from trip 1 and had a yummy pizza dinner before some presentations. Our program directors hosted a series of presentations. From our trip, we heard from Shlomo Netzer and Aliza Shloush and watched 2 video stars. One was made by Chaviva and Batya which showed a bunch of videos of water being pointed on the counselors, and Shifra and Rachel G. made one with clips from all our fun activities so far over the summer. After the presentations we had an amazing concert by Ari Goldwag where we all danced b’yachad. Both trips performed a flash mob, ours was to the song “Big Time Rush.”  After a fun night we returned to the hotel for a good night sleep with late wake up!
