We started our first day in Jerusalem (wahoo!!!) with a bus ride to the Tayelet. There we enjoyed a stunning view of the old city. We then made our way to the old city and split up into four lunch groups. We had the option of Burgers Bar, Mozerella, Coffix, and BBQ. After lunch we went to Machon HaMikdash which is a place where there are keilim that could be used used in the next Beit Hamikdash (bimhera be’yamenu!). They explained how they were created and how they decide what to build when there is a machloket as to how to build the keilim. Then we toured the old city, and at each stop, one of our amazing counselors shared a story about someone relevant to that place. Then we went to the kotel and enjoyed a nice and meaningful dancing session before mincha. At the kotel we met Jacob Sack’s and Kee Frishman’s (some of our counselors) friends from Hakotel, a hesder yeshiva in the old city. Later that day, we went to Yom Yachad and had fun in Kfar Etzion. We had a blast and danced and socialized throughout the night with YBY trip one. At Yom Yachad we heard inspiring speeches from the participants, saw videos made by participants from each trip, and danced the night away. Because we were on such a high from Yom Yachad, on the bus ride back we had a kumzits in the dark. All in all it was a fun, jammed packed day.
Signing off and can’t wait for shabbat in Jerusalem!
