July 22, 2014: Day 8

Today was a fantastic day! To start off, we (davened of course and then) ate an excellent breakfast in LA. We then loaded the buses and began our 3-hour journey to San Diego’s Sea World. Towards the beginning of the drive, our two buses got off the highway and stopped in order for us to pick up our Sefer Torah. Where we stopped happened to be both the site of a military exercise and a beautiful view of the Pacific Ocean. So, naturally, we ended up taking probably around 1,500 pictures in that 10-15 minute span.  By that point, the day had already felt so fulfilling that there no longer seemed to be a need to drive for another 2 hours and explore Sea World. But, it was only just past noon, and we needed more to write about in the journal, so we made the drive nonetheless. Sea World was magnificent. We saw dolphins, sharks, penguins, sea lions and much more. The highlight however, was the famous killer whale show provided by Shamu. Quite disappointingly Shamu is not just one magical, immortal whale but he has the ability to perform in multiple places across the world at once. Shamu is in fact a troupe of many whales. Regardless, the show was very fun, and very wet. After Sea World, we drove to a new hotel in San Diego, which is where we picked up the journal and began writing.

Have a good One,
