July 20, 2015: Absorption Center, Artist Colonies, & Stam Center

Today we started off with an attempt to an early wake up… But that didn’t really go so well! After a delayed davening and breakfast, we rushed onto the bus to go to an absorption center to play games with little Ethiopian children who made Aliyah within the past year or two. The 2 busses went to 2 different centers. One group played a game where one person would ring a bell and the other person would spin around and had to capture the bell. The other group played a game called “Kapura.” It is a game that incorporates both dance and karate. It was very interesting but fun at the same time. Then we went to Tzfat where we had a tour by our amazing Israeli staff! We were then able to walk through the shuk in Tzfat in inclusive groups :). After that we went to the STAM (Sefer torah, Tefillin, And Mezuzah) museum. We had 3 different interactive activities there. For example we got a piece of klaf, a feather and ink. We had the amazing opportunity of writing our names in the same font of the letters of the Torah. We then came back to the hotel for dinner followed by our amazing night activity! It was called “capture the councler”. 8 of the counclers hid in somewhere outside with a bottle of paint. We then had to find the counselors and do the given task in order to get a dot of that color paint. The goal of the game was to get all 8 color paints on your arm. After getting like 5 colors the game kinda turned into a chase and tac kle your councler kinda game. We all got wet and dirty but it was lots of fun! Thanks to all the staff for another great day on yby! Can’t wait for tomorrow 🙂
