Day Thirteen: Wednesday, July 24th: Tie Dye, Kfar Kedem, and Welcome to Yerushalayim!

Hey hey hey! It’s Rachel and Raya!!!

Today was another insanely fun and jam packed day. When we woke up this morning, at basically what felt like the crack of dawn, we davened and went to breakfast. This was everybody’s favorite meal. Then we loaded the buses and went on our way to tie dye shirts for Yom Yachad. As the bus started to arrive at Color Me Israel, the level of excitement grew tremendously, but not for the reason you think. Yes, obviously, everybody loves a good tie dye however, the activities that truly make everyone happy are the ones that have the one extra quality that overpowers the rest: air conditioning. After attempting to be artsy and cool, we got on the bus, again, to travel to Kfar Kedem. At Kfar Kedem, we were all told to pretend as if we lived during a time where they rode donkeys and made pita outside on a fire. There were no utensils, no real chairs, and no technology. Efraim even did backflips off of the donkeys. (You’re welcome for the shoutout.) We got on the bus and we were finally able to see the holiest city in Israel, Yerushalayim. The view of Yerushalayim from Mt. Scopus was completely astounding and inspiring that tears were shed. On Mt. Scopus, we sang and davened Mincha creating a beautiful and spiritual environment. In a shocking turn of events we… got on the bus AGAIN. We headed to our new hotel in Bayit Vegan. We think everybody can agree that this dinner was an upgrade. We then found out our new rooms, wrote letters to soldiers, and chilled in the courtyard which topped off a pretty fantastic day on Yad B’Yad Trip 2, 2019.
