Day Sixteen: Shabbat, July 27th: Yerushalayim Themed Shabbat!

Hey! This is Ally Misher and Esther Levin.

Shabbos in Jerusalem was spiritual and exciting. We started Shabbos with a beautiful Kabbalat Shabbat outside. We then had a delicious dinner followed by circle time. We played games and sang songs together. We started off Shabbos morning with a ruach filled davening. Then we had kiddush which included cake, doritos, and babka. Next, we had an amazing learning activity led by the fantastic Efraim Wiener. We talked about our Jewish identity and how we identify with different parts of Judaism. Then we had lunch and sang z’mirot. Afterwards we had circle time and it was a blast! Efraim Wiener led an amazing song called Down by the Bay. We then had menucha and people napped, talked, and played games. After menucha, we davened Mincha followed by an ice breaker game. Next we had Seudat Shlishit and went outside for a meaningful slow shira. We davened Maariv and ended Shabbos with a musical havdalah. Then we played a fun night activity of human Apples to Apples. People dressed up as different people and characters, and we had to choose the person who most fit the category. What a fun time! We can’t wait for more to come!
