Day Six: Wednesday, July 17th - Rafting down the Jordan River and Yom NCSY!

Hey, it’s Nava from Miami!

Yad B’Yad Trip 2 had a crazy day today. It started off with davening and a super Israeli breakfast (the shakshuka disappeared fast). Then we took a very long, but very scenic bus ride to go water rafting in the Jordan river. We split up into groups and each got into our own rafts. Steering the rafts was not easy at first, but after a lot of bumping into branches and getting stuck near rocks, most groups got the hang of it (mine – not so much). There was a good amount of splashing and quite a bit of singing, so it’s safe to say Yad B’Yad was definitely the loudest and most excited group on the Jordan river today. The water was freezing, and considering that it was over 100 degrees outside, a lot of us jumped in the river, which was a blast. After rafting, we headed on another long, but very scenic bus ride to Yom NCSY. We all got to see friends from other programs, eat burgers and fries, and most importantly dance together at the concert. Even though it’s only our second day in Israel, today will easily be one of the best days on the trip. Shout out to Efraim Weiner (I hope I spelled that right) for putting together all the journals.

Can’t wait for the rest of summer!!
