Day Fifteen: Friday, July 26th: Volunteering with the Elderly, Ben Yehuda, and Har Herzl!

Hey Everyone! Welcome back to the daily journal. We are Tsilya Schneier and Ariella Vogel from Teaneck, NJ.

Today we visited an old age home in Yerushalayim. We made connections to the elderly using songs and smiles. After that, we made our way to Ben Yehuda Street where we got to walk around with our friends, shop, and eat delicious food!! Yummy! Efraim even finished a whole pizza pie on his own. A truly inspiring act. Next stop, we went to Har Herzl to visit the graves of fallen soldiers. Yishai spoke to us and said, “We might not know every one of these chayalim, but they each have a story and each sacrificed themselves for this country.” This is something we all kept in mind while walking around looking at the graves and hearing the stories. After that, we sang Hatikva and spoke a little bit about Theodor Herzl. Overall, it was both a very fun and impactful day in the Holy Land. We can’t wait for a memorable Shabbos together in Yerushalayim!!

Peace out Girl Scouts.
