Dear Journal,
Wake up, daven Shacharit and eat breakfast- the classic start of a Yad B’Yad morning. Next we drove to Masada where we embark on a majestic picturesque cable car ride into the infamous, historic landmark. While some enjoyed an immersive, informative tour, others decided to stay back and bask in the glorious view of the surrounding desert. Soon after we all gathered to complete our morning service with Rosh Chodesh laining, led by my main man JerBear, looking out at the beautiful desert landscape. After the geshmak reading, we took the cable car back down to our succulent lunch and looked forward to our next adventure of the day, the Dead Sea. Our short, but memorable experience at the Dead Sea most definitely left a lasting impression on all of us, and a funny smell. Finally returning to our hotel we begin to prepare for the holy Sabbath, themed Chassidush. The night ended with a beautiful service, dinner, tisch and atmosphere.
On Shabbos day, we started out with the regular Sabbath services in a warm shul. We had an ecstatic kiddush sponsored by me, Simcha, in honor of my great grandmother’s yartzheit, may her Neshama have an Aliyah. We then had learning programs led by Leora Mayer and Sarah Posluns, lunch and circle time. Then we had a shtark menucha which consisted of a couple of activities. We had a game of so you think you can dance led by group 4, followed by mincha, seudat shlishit and then ended Shabbos with maariv and beautiful zemirot and havdalah outside. We are looking forward to our next journey to Jerusalem!
