Dear YBY Journal,
Today, we left the 425 degree weather in Eilat, as we traveled north to the Negev. We drove A TON, until we got to Sdei Boker, the community which David Ben Gurion built up. Then we drove A TON more until we arrived at the Salad Trail, where we picked and tasted a variety of fresh vegetables and herbs, made our own pitas and released carrier pigeons. Then we drove A TON more (yes we drove a lot, like 5-6 hours), this time to our final destination, the Bedouin tents. We disembarked from the bus to go camel riding. Following the exhilarating camel rides, we had the privilege of listening to Rabbi Lord Jacob Saks make a siyum, which allowed us to eat meat. We enjoyed a messy Bedouin style dinner on pillows laid across the floor. After dinner, we met Mohamed, a man who visited Canada on a camel, who served us INCREDIBLE tea. After the Bedouin hospitality, we had army night, where the Israeli staff made us all cry and call for our moms (JK, it was hilarious). We then had a bonfire and kumzitz, and chilled, until we fell asleep in our cozy tents.
