August 17, 2014: Day 31

Hey, YBY 14 trip 2!! Today was a very emotional day being that it was our last day on the program. We started off the day with the usual davening and breakfast. We then got on the buses and we 8-17-1were on our way to the Golden Gate Bridge #dejavu. Kayla and Yair lead learning programs, and then we ate lunch and davened Mincha. Following Mincha, we split up into our attendance groups to start preparing our presentations for banquet. After about an hour, we took (or at least attempted to take) a YBY trip 2 picture spelling out “Yad B’Yad.” We then got back on the buses for one last bus ride together 🙁 .Two and a half hours later, our beach-themed banquet began. First we ate dinner, and then each group presented what they had prepared earlier. All of the presentations were great! After that we said Maariv. Then came staff presentations, followed by the end of summer slideshow. There were only a few rare dry eyes after the head staff speeches and the slideshow. For the rest of the night (slash morning) there was dancing, a donkey game, a kumzitz by the piano, ice bucket challenges, and many other activities to keep us up and entertained. Thank you to everyone for making this an incredible summer!! Participants, Staff, Head staff, Logistics, Kitchen staff, Bus drivers, and all. It’s been real. Thank you all so much!

8-17-2P.S Although the summer program aspect of YBY is over, the lifestyle aspect is not. We hope to see everyone on Shabbatons, Simchaton, and all the other reunions! Please keep in touch!!! Thank you again everyone. You’re all amazing; it’s been an amazing, amazing summer (I’m crying as I’m writing this). It’s been a pleasure!

Wishing everyone a great year ahead!
