Junior Yachad provides individuals ages 8-15 with developmental disabilities the opportunity to socialize and to be included within the Jewish Community.
Junior Yachad members enjoy inclusive social and recreational programs, including Shabbatons with typically developing peers from local junior high yesivah day schools such as YCQ, Manhattan Day School, Kushner, and Yeshivat Noam.
With Junior Yachad chapters in Brooklyn, Queens, Long Island, Monsey, and New Jersey we work with many communities on weekend shabbatons and local weekday events. We have an average of 1-2 Shabbatons per month and school events.
Through our inclusive events and program, members could meet new friends and enjoy the opportunity to learn, grow, and have fun.
Advisory Staff
The Junior Yachad staff are trained to work with children/teenagers with developmental disabilities. The advisors are responsible for the Yachad members overall care and safety throughout the weekend including distribution of medication. The majority of our staff are volunteer college students from throughout the Tri-state.
