Day 4: Weekly Challenge!
Challenge #1: Notice the Unnoticed
The first step to inclusion is awareness, not big gestures, but small moments of noticing.
Awareness isn’t about knowing everything. It’s about noticing the things we usually walk right past. In life, we see people every day, but we don’t always notice how they’re feeling, what they need, or what would make them feel included.
Throughout the day, we often move quickly through spaces and conversations, focusing on what’s familiar and comfortable. In the process, it’s easy to overlook people, behaviors, or needs that don’t immediately demand our attention. Someone sitting alone. Someone trying to join a conversation. Someone who moves, communicates, or responds differently.
Today’s challenge is to slow down and train yourself to look a little closer. Pay a little more attention. Notice the people who often go unseen.
Noticing doesn’t always require action. Sometimes it begins with eye contact, patience, or making space. Other times, it may mean adjusting your behavior or offering inclusion in a small but meaningful way. These moments can quietly change how someone experiences belonging.
When we notice the unnoticed, we move beyond labels and assumptions. We begin to see people as they are, individuals deserving of dignity, care, and connection.
Do This Today:
Pause once today to intentionally notice someone or something you might usually overlook and take one small step to make space for them.
