Day 15: Learn Brachot in Sign Language

“Bi Rov Am Hamrat Melech- The King’s glory is in multitudes”(Misheli 14:28). Our Rabbis teach us that this Passuk implies that it is far greater for commandments and Teffilot to be done in public, with as many people as possible, rather than individually. It’s therefore important that, as a Jewish community, we ensure that all of our members are given the resources to add their voice and participate in religious activities.

Pictured below are diagrams depicting some common prayers and Brachot in American Sign Language. Consider learning to communicate in ASL and specifically, expressing Teffillot in such a manner. These papers can also be printed and placed in Synagogues and schools, allowing those with visual/hearing impairments to participate in services.
