Day 12: Get Involved With Yachad!

With eleven chapters across the United States, Canada, and Israel, Yachad is a far-reaching, international organization that promotes disability inclusion. Through Sunday Kickball games, paint nights, and acclaimed Shabbatonim, it educates the wider public about the abilities of those with special needs and demonstrates just how much more enjoyable a community can be when it welcomes all of its members.

There are many ways to get involved with Yachad. Visit Yachad.org to find out if a chapter exists in your area and if so, sign up for its next event! If the miles prevent you from participating, consider larger national Shabbatonim or one of Yachad’s Marathons in Jerusalem, Florida, or wherever you’d like to run. Remember, while Yachad might be geographically based in some areas, on a much larger scale, it’s a philosophy that believes each person has value and can contribute to the community—something you can take wherever you go!
